Name We affectionately refer to ourselves as the "Number One Book Club" History Our book club has been in existence since Fall 2006. We have a wonderful group of 30 plus members, who always welcome new readers. During the Fall and Winter months, we break into discussion groups to give everyone a chance to participate. During the Spring and Summer, our group is more intimate. A recent questionnaire of members garnered some typical comments like: "Very good (club) and getting better", and "The group is well organized, diversified, and welcoming to all." Goal Our goal is to bring together readers of all levels of interest, time to commit, and reading preferences. We have created an environment that provides an opportunity to discuss a variety of books that may be thought provoking, educational, or just plan fun. Anyone is welcome to come to any of the meetings. Everyone is encouraged to make reading recommendations, contribute to the discussion, ask questions, or participate in any way that is personally comfortable. Format We meet the second Monday of each month at 10:00AM at the clubhouse, and those who would like to socialize and get to know one another better often arrive early, between 9:30 - 10:00AM. We handle any housekeeping details the first few minutes of the meeting and after that the book discussion takes place and is usually done around 11am. Contacts If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sue Luterbach or Jane Farley. |
